Here’s this week’s candidates for the Lansing State Journal athlete of the week.  Readers can vote for candidates until noon Wednesday.

MATTHEW FATA, LANSING CATHOLIC BOYS BASKETBALL:  Helped the Cougars post wins over Lakewood and Ionia by averaging 22.5 points. He Scored 21 in a win over Lakewood on Tuesday and had 24 points to help Lansing Catholic beat Ionia.
 
MAKENNA OTT, HASLETT GIRLS BASKETBALL: Averaged 17.5 points in a pair of wins, which included scoring 25 to help the Vikings knock off Class A No. 1 DeWitt in a CAAC Red clash. The senior forward scored 10 in a victory over Ionia.
 
THERON SINGLES, LESLIE WRESTLING: Reached 100 wins for his career after going 6-0 last week. The 112-pounder won by pin to help Leslie to a win over Stockbridge on Wednesday and went 5-0 on Saturday at the Alma Duals.
 
MADDIE WATTERS, WILLIAMSTON GIRLS BASKETBALL: Helped the Hornets to victories over East Lansing and Fowlerville by averaging 15.5 points. Watters scored 13 in a win over East Lansing on Tuesday and followed with 18 against Fowlerville on Friday.​
