THE WINNER: Tanner Anderson
THE BASICS
School: North Central (Spokane, Wash.)
Grade: Senior
Height: 5-foot-9
Weight: 135 pounds
Athletic achievement: He raced to a national title this past season with a time of 15:11 at the Nike Cross Nationals Final. Anderson won the Class 3A individual state championship for the second consecutive year, clocking a meet-record time of 14:32. He also won the NXN Northwest Regional championships in 15:46.6 and broke the tape at the Tracy Walters Invitational as well as the Richland Invitational.
Academic excellence: Anderson has maintained a B average.
Exemplary character: He has helped feed the needy at Thanksgiving and has volunteered locally on behalf of environmental conservation efforts.

THE FUTURE: Anderson remains undecided upon a collegiate destination.
