Weak, Rhoad shine in Livonia Blue's loss to Canton

Exemplary performances by all-around standouts Jess Weak and Bri Rhoad weren’t enough to lift Livonia Blue’s gymnastic team over Canton Wednesday night.

Weak earned an all-around score of 35.80 while Rhoad netted 35.35 points, however, the Chiefs prevailed, 141.250-138.50.

Weak won the floor-exercise competition with a routine that garnered a score of 9.25. Weak tied for third on the beam with a 9.0 mark. She also registered solid scores on the uneven bars (8.85) and vault (8.70).

Rhoad was second to none on the beam as she tied for first with Canton’s Hailey Hodgson with a score of 9.15. Rhoad also sparkled with an 8.9 on the vault.

Another standout for Blue was Emily Chatterjee, who tied for third on the beam with a 9.0.

Hodgson was spectacular for the Chiefs, winning the vault with a 9.3 before tying for second with a 9.2 on her floor-exercise routine.

Canton’s Allison Kunz was the bars with a 9.55 effort before tying for second with a 9.2 floor score.
