Friday’s East Henderson at Pisgah football game will still include its share of drama with Black Bears coach Brett Chappell facing his former school for just the third time.
But it is no longer homecoming in Canton.
Pisgah announced Thursday that it has moved those festivities to Oct. 9 due to concerns over the rainy weather forecast for Western North Carolina in the next 48 hours.
The Black Bears are 3-1 after completing nonconference play, while the visiting Eagles (0-4) are winless. Friday is the WNC Athletic Conference opener for both teams.
Chappell won 67 games and four conference championships at East Henderson before taking the Pisgah job in January 2013.
The Black Bears’ Oct. 9 opponent is another Henderson County school, West Henderson (3-1).
