Edgewood may have a state-record 63-game winning streak, but there are positive categories where the Wildcats trail someone.

Edgewood’s 26-game region win streak ranks a measly fourth in the state.

Class 2A Tanner won its 44th consecutive region game Friday, while 1A Maplesville won its 39th. Class 3A Madison Academy has a 31-game region win streak.

Edgewood, though it won at Morgan Academy this week, sports a 32-game home winning streak, the third longest in the state.

Maplesville has a 44-game home win streak and Muscle Shoals, the only one of the three to win at home this week, hasn’t lost in its stadium in 34 games.

Also, Russell Christian (Miss.), a second-year member of the AISA, picked up the first 11-man football victory in school history Friday.

The Warriors beat Sumter Academy 30-22.
