West Salem senior Jacob Kizer has verbally committed to play football at Washington.

“Extremely excited to announce that I have committed to play for the university of Washington!” he posted on twitter.

Kizer, a 6-foot-5, 240-pound senior, was a first-team all-state defensive lineman as a junior for West Salem last season, but is projected to play tight end in college.

He also had scholarship offers from Oregon State, Washington State, Wyoming, Air Force and Eastern Washington among other Division I programs.

Kizer was the No. 4 ranked high school football player in Oregon in the class of 2016 and was a three-star recruit, according to Rivals.com.
