Park Crossing’s Steven Hodges (#5) looks for room to run. Thunderbirds take on the Carroll Eagles in Park Crossing’s homecoming game Friday, Sept. 18, 2015.

Malik Cunningham threw for five touchdowns and Kavaris Thomas ran for more than 100 yards in Park Crossing’s 41-12 win over Carroll-Ozark on Friday.

Cunningham finished 14-of-26 passing for 223 yards with one interception, while Thomas had 106 yards on 10 carries for the Thunderbirds (5-0, 3-0 Class 6A, Region 2).

Steven Hodges caught three of the touchdown passes, including an 11-yarder on the opening possession of the second half that made it 34-6.

Cunningham spread his completions to seven receivers.

Tarrance Scott and Jahod Booker also had touchdown catches.

Carroll-Ozark (1-3, 1-2) scored on the game’s opening possession.

After Clarence Roberts ran 64 yards to the 1, Jon Fells gave the Eagles a 6-0 lead.

But Park Crossing, which is ranked seventh in Class 6A, scored on five of its seven first-half possessions, including a 45-yard field goal on the half’s final play.

Hodges caught a 4-yard TD pass, Jake Lane kicked a 34-yard field goal and Hodges pulled in a 13-yard TD pass to make it 17-6 in the second quarter.

Scott’s 15-yard TD catch came on the first play after Kameron Green’s 67-yard punt return.

The field-goal unit sprinted onto the field and Lane’s kick barely crept over the crossbar. Just as it hit the ground, the halftime buzzer sounded.

Hodges’ 11-yard TD catch and a 17-yarder by Booker capped Park Crossing’s first two second-half possessions.

Carroll’s Roberts had a 4-yard TD run with 3 minutes to play.

Roberts ran for 117 yards on 21 carries, while Fells had 19 carries for 80 yards.

Park Crossing finished with 410 yards total offense, while Carroll had 294, including just 96 in the second half.
