CV Students Prepare for Their Favorite Time of Year
It’s every students’ favorite time of year. A time when students say goodbye to friends and teachers for 11 days and embark on 11 days of relaxation, happiness, and peace. This is of course called “Winter Break,” which will occur between December 24th and January 3rd. This allows everyone quite a bit of time off to spend with families and friends and enjoy whatever holiday, or lack thereof, they celebrate this time of year. Students were asked what holidays they were celebrating, and what they planned on doing over the long break. Most of the responses we got were mostly expected.
“I’m planning on celebrating the great holiday of Festivus,” said Jake Kundra. “This is the time we all get around and celebrate Air of Grievances, Feats of Strength, the aluminum pole, Festivus dinner, and Festivus miracles.”
Other students like Julie Segel, who are Jewish, have been in the celebration of Hanukkah. “It’s our family’s tradition of celebrating such an incredible holiday that really makes us happy.”
Last but not least, others take the more widely known route and celebrate Christmas. Jordan Mokricky said “We will have a big family gathering on Christmas Eve, and enjoy the holiday!”
When asked what he would be doing over break, Stanislav Davyda said “Manning my man cave and scoping bad guys.” Others, like Brandon Marcucci, said “I’m going to visit my family and basically just chill and enjoy break.”
Overall, it’s an amazing time to see what everyone has planned for the holiday season, and I for one can’t wait to hear all about it!
