WKU's win means revised schedule for state football finals

By

Western Kentucky University’s 49-28 victory over Marshall on Friday means the Kentucky High School Athletic Association will go with a revised schedule for next week’s state football finals in Bowling Green.

WKU will host either Southern Mississippi or Louisiana Tech at noon EST next Saturday in the Conference USA championship game.

With WKU needing Friday to prepare for the CUSA championship game, the high school state finals now will be played on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Here is the schedule (all times Eastern):

* Thursday – Class A, 8 p.m.

* Saturday – Class 6-A, 6 p.m.; Class 5-A, 9 p.m.

* Sunday – Class 2-A, 2 p.m.; Class 3-A, 5 p.m.; Class 4-A, 8 p.m.

The KHSAA announced the backup plan last month.
