Woodmore’s baseball team won its school-record 18th game beating Elmwood 2-1 to shore up second-place in the Northern Buckeye Conference. Genoa won the conference title.

The win is one more than the previous school record for a season set by the 2005, 2006 and 2007 teams. The game ended the 2015 season for the Wildcats (18-8, 10-4), who lost 8-5 Thursday to Edison in the district semifinal to drop out of the Div. III state tournament.

Tristan Roth was 2-for-3 while Mason Beachler went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Matt Depner and John Williams had the Wildcats’ other hits. Ross Wolford tossed a complete game allowing four hits and one unearned run six strikeouts.
