Woodmore, SJCC baseball splits doubleheader

Woodmore and St. Joseph Central Catholic’s baseball teams split a doubleheader Saturday in non-conference action.

The Crimson Streaks won game one 20-9. Three Wildcats’ pitchers combined throw 183 pitches and issued ten walks.

Lucas Michael had three hits, Dalton Caudill drove in three runs and Jake Yeckley homered for SJCC. Ben Wonderly earned the victory.

Tristan Roth, Logan Fonsec and Trey Schnabel had two hits apiece for Woodmore. Schnabel had three RBIs and Fonseca had two.

Game two went to the Wildcats 3-2.

Ross Wolford gave up just one earned run on four hits with eight strikeouts over six innings for Woodmore (9-4). Tristan Roth had an RBI single and Connor Bringman hit an RBI double— which would prove to be the winning run— in the bottom of the fifth inning.
