Thirteen players are scheduled to announce their college commitments next Wednesday, Feb. 3, as part of ESPNU’s 11th annual National Signing Day coverage, the network announced Tuesday.
Among those commitments is unanimous No. 1 overall prospect Rashan Gary, a defensive tackle from Paramus (N.J.) Catholic, who is expected to announce during SportsCenter at 1 p.m., ESPN said. A schedule for the remaining players will be announced closer to signing day.
In a news release, ESPN said it will have programming across five television networks, on-site reporting at 15 campuses – including each of the schools ranked in the Recruiting Nation Top 10 – as well as at least 20 streaming options on ESPN3 and WatchESPN. ESPN also plans to update its class rankings hourly.
Programming begins at 8 a.m. ET with five hours of coverage on ESPNU. ESPN2 has four hours of coverage beginning at 1 p.m. with a two-hour recap of the day on ESPNU beginning at 5. This is the first time that ESPN2 has carried the afternoon portion of signing day coverage.
Streaming shows will feature a look at individual schools. According to the release, the ESPN3 digital schedule currently includes: Georgia Tech (8:30 a.m.), Bowling Green (9 a.m.), Duke (9 a.m.), Miami (Fla.) (9 a.m.), Monmouth (noon), Northern Illinois (3 p.m.), Miami (Ohio) (3 p.m.), Appalachian State (6:15 p.m.) Florida State (6:30 p.m.) and Eastern Michigan (TBD). SEC Network + will carry school produced shows from Auburn (7 a.m.), Kentucky (8 a.m.), Alabama (9 a.m.), Georgia (9 a.m.), Arkansas (11 a.m.), and Mississippi State (TBD) in addition to school news conferences. The Longhorn Network will have five hours of coverage of Texas Football Signing Day beginning at 8 am ET.
On the day before signing day, ESPNU will air Signing Day Featured at 3 p.m. and a two-hour ESPNU Signing Day Preview Special at 4.
