COACH OF THE YEAR
Ryan Smith, Riverview (Searcy)
Smith led the Raiders to a perfect 38-0 record and a second consecutive Class 4A state championship. The only unbeaten team in the state, Riverview has won 49 straight games since losing to Central Arkansas Christian in January of 2015. This season, the Raiders beat CAC five times, including a 64-58 decision in the state final.
FIRST TEAM
Player of the Year
Christyn Williams, G, Central Arkansas Christian (North Little Rock), 5-10, So.
The state’s Gatorade Player of the Year, Williams averaged 29.1 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.1 blocks per game as the Mustangs made a surprising run to the state final. Ranked by ESPN as the nation’s No. 3 recruit in the Class of 2018, Williams was an alternate for USA Basketball’s U-16 National Team in 2015.
Alexis Tolefree, G, Conway, 5-7, Sr.
Tolefree set school records for points in a game, season and career, averaging 26.1 ppg as a senior to lead the Wampus Cats to the Class 7A final.
Kiara Williams, C, Little Rock Central, 6-1, Sr.
The University of Arkansas signee averaged 15 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots per game for the 27-3 Tigers.
Kyra Collier, G, North Little Rock, 5-9, Sr.
Collier carried the Chargers to a 25-5 mark and the Class 7A state title, averaging 20.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists along the way.
Aahliyah Jackson, F, Northside (Fort Smith), 6-0, Sr.
The Texas A&M commit averaged 18.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game for the Class 7A semifinalists.
