USA TODAY High School Sports is proud to announce the 2015-16 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Connecticut Girls Basketball Team. Players were selected based on their athletic achievements from the 2015-16 season.

Kelly Maher, Cromwell
Maher’s brand of defense continued to pay dividends for the Panthers, who posted their second perfect campaign in the past four seasons. Cromwell finished 28-0 and trounced Notre Dame Fairfield in the Class M state final, 43-20—the fewest points ever allowed in championship game history.


Player of the Year
Desiree Elmore, F, Capital Prep (Hartford), 5-10, Sr.
Elmore was an unstoppable force on the interior as the Trailblazers went undefeated against in-state competition and captured their fourth straight state championship. A Syracuse signee, she averaged 26.7 points, 15.7 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 3.5 blocks per game, while shooting 58.4 percent from the floor.

Shaq Edwards, G, Weaver (Hartford), 5-5, SR.
Edwards missed the postseason with an injury, but averaged 30.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.3 steals and 4.0 assists per game in the regular season, earning Gatorade Player of the Year honors.

Tiana England, G, Stamford, 5-7, Sr.
The St. John’s commit sparked her team to the Class LL state title, averaging 15.7 points, 4.8 assists and 3.9 steals per contest.

Abby Laszewski, C, Avon, 6-3, Sr.
Wisconsin-bound Laszewski was an imposing inside presence, posting 18.1 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.9 blocks per game.

Abbie Wolf, F/C, Greenwich, 6-4, Sr.
Wolf notched 18 points and 13.2 rebounds per game, leading the Cardinals to the Class LL championship game.

McKenna Dale, F, E.O. Smith (Mansfield), 6-0, Jr.

Cheray Saunders, G, Farmington, 5-10, Sr.

Elise Graham, G, Amity (Woodbridge), 5-7, Sr.

Rebecca Lawrence, F, Ridgefield, 6-3, Sr.
