COACH OF THE YEAR
Todd Fitz-Gerald, Stoneman Douglas (Parkland)
Fitz-Gerald directed the Eagles to a 27-2 record and their first state title, defeating defending champ Columbus, 3-0, for the Class 9A crown. Stoneman Douglas persevered despite losing ace Jesus Luzardo to Tommy John surgery early in the season and was named the national Team of the Year by Baseball America.

The son of former MLB All-Star Dante Bichette punished opposing pitchers as a senior, hitting .574 with 13 home runs, 41 RBI, 21 stolen bases and an OPS of 2.131. Bichette committed to Arizona State but was nabbed with the 66th pick of the MLB Draft and signed with the Blue Jays.
