COACH OF THE YEAR
Darryl Burrows, Dillard (Fort Lauderdale)
In his 23rd season as Dillard’s head coach, Burrows padded his already impressive resume by leading the Panthers to the Class 6A state title, the sixth championship of his illustrious career. He has produced a career winning percentage of .791 (536-141) during his long tenure.
Player of the Year
Tony Bradley, F, Bartow, 6-10/250, Sr.
Florida’s Mr. Basketball winner and the state’s Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year, Bradley averaged 22.8 points, 12.6 rebounds and three blocked shots per game this past season, leading Bartow (19-10) to the Class 7A regional final. The future Tar Heel is also a 2016 McDonald’s All-American Game selection and is ranked No. 21 in the nation by ESPN.
Myron Dewar, G, Coral Springs, 6-3/220, Sr.
Dewar led Coral Springs to the Class 8A championship (the first title in school history), averaging 29.2 points, 7.6 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game.
Dewan Huell, F, Norland (Miami), 6-10/218, Sr.
A McDonald’s All-American and future Miami Hurricane, Huell averaged 16.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game for Norland, which reached the Class 6A regional final.
Kevin Knox, F, Tampa Catholic, 6-8/195, Jr.
Knox (29.6 points and 10.9 rebounds) averaged better than a double-double per game to help guide Tampa Catholic to the Class 4A semifinals.
Christian Carlyle, F/G, Bishop Kenny (Jacksonville), 6-4/200, Sr.
The Florida Gulf Coast signee guided Bishop Kenny to the Class 5A state final, producing averages of 23.3 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per contest.
Kyle McWilliams, G/F, Maclay (Tallahasee), 6-6/175, Sr.
Mark Gordon, G, Mount Dora Christian Academy, 6-0/190, Sr.
Trent Forrest, G/F, Chipley, 6 -5/190, Sr.
Trey Cox, G, Palmetto Ridge (Naples), 5-11/200, Sr.
Udoka Azubuike, C, Potter’s House Christian Academy (Jacksonville), 6- 11/270, Sr.
