USA TODAY High School Sports is proud to announce the 2015-16 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Louisiana Girls Basketball Team. Players were selected based on their athletic achievements from the 2015-16 season.

Jamie Thomatis, Mount Carmel Academy (New Orleans)
In her first season at the helm at Mount Carmel, Thomatis led the Cubs (29-6) to the Class 5A state title, capping off the championship with a 59-48 win over Denham Springs.


Player of the Year
Cara Ursin, G, Destrehan HS, 5-7, Jr.
The state’s two-time reigning Gatorade Girls Basketball Player of the Year, Ursin averaged 25 points and 12.9 rebounds per game this past season to help lead the Wildcats (25-3) to an appearance in the Class 5A quarterfinals. She earned First Team All-State honors by also contributing 7.3 steals, six assists and 5.5 blocks per contest.

Diamond Brooks, F/C, Sumner (Kentwood), 6-2, Jr.
Brooks produced 16.3 points and 8.2 rebounds per game for Sumner, which captured the Class 3A state title this past season.

Kristen Nuss, G, Mount Carmel Academy (New Orleans), 5-6, Sr.
Also a standout in volleyball, for which she earned Gatorade Louisiana Girls Volleyball Player of the Year this past fall, Nuss averaged 9.9 points, 6.6 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game on the basketball court this season, guiding Mount Carmel to the Class 5A championship.

Elise Reilly, G, Mandeville, 5-7, Sr.
Reilly averaged 22.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists for Mandeville, earning a Class 5A semifinals berth this past season.

Kourtney Weber, G, Ursuline Academy (New Orleans), 5-10, So.
The sophomore standout led Ursuline Academy (29-6) to the Class 4A state title, averaging 17.6 points and 3.7 rebounds for the season.


Madyson Brasseaux, G, Lacassine, 5-7, Sr.

Skyler Goodwin, G, Parkview Baptist (Baton Rouge), 5-7, Jr.

Rakell Spencer, G, Cabrini (New Orleans), 5-9, Sr.

Jaeden Vaifanua, F/C, Rapides (Lecompte), 6-1, Fr.

Tiara Young, G/F, Evangel Christian Academy (Shreveport), 5-9, Fr.
