USA TODAY High School Sports is proud to announce the 2015-16 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Minnesota Girls Basketball Team. Players were selected based on their athletic achievements from the 2015-16 season.

Leah Dasovich, Minnetonka
Minnentonka had made just one state tournament appearance in school history—in 1999—before Dasovich guided this year’s team to a 25-4 record and the Class 4A state championship. The Skippers defeated top-seeded defending champion Hopkins in the title game, 61-52. Hopkins had eliminated Minnetonka in the sectional tournament each of the four previous years.


Player of the Year
Taylor Koenen, G, Shakopee, 6-2, Sr.
The North Carolina recruit capped her career by averaging 21.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.1 steals as a senior, leading the Sabers to a 27-2 record and the sectional finals. The state’s Gatorade Player of the Year, Koenen finished with 2,364 career points, the first player in school history, boys or girls, to top 2,000 points.

Jamie Ruden, F, John Marshall (Rochester), 6-1, Sr.
An Arizona State signee, Ruden scored 21.5 points and pulled down 9.3 rebounds per game.

Kiara Russell, G, Osseo (Maple Grove), 5-8, Sr.
Russell averaged 22.3 points, four rebounds and four assists per game and will team with Ruden at ASU next season.

Abi Scheid, C, Elk River, 6-3, Sr.
The state’s top post player, Scheid averaged 18.5 points and 10.2 rebounds, and committed to Northwestern.

Nia Hollie, G, Hopkins (Minnetonka), 6-0, Sr.
A Michigan State commit, Hollie led Hopkins back to the state final, averaging 17.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per contest.


Andrayah Adams, G, Como Park (St. Paul), 5-9, Sr.

Courtney Fredrickson, F, Minnetonka, 6-1, Sr.

Laura Bagwell-Katalinich, F, Holy Angels (Minneapolis), 6-0, Sr.

Suzanne Gilreath, G, Fridley, 5-4, Sr.

Lashayla Wright-Ponder, F, Kennedy (Bloomington), 6-1, Sr.
