Josh Grotting, Sutherlin
Grotting’s team had won two straight Class 4A state championships, but this season the Bulldogs returned just one veteran who had played in the 2015 title game. It didn’t matter. Seeded seventh in the state tournament, Sutherlin beat each of the top three seeds, dispatching Cascade in the final, 45-40, to stretch its title-winning streak to three. The 27-1 Bulldogs have now won 83 consecutive games against Oregon foes.

Player of the Year
Evina Westbrook, G/F, South Salem, 6-0, Jr.
Ranked as the No. 3 junior recruit in the country by ESPN, Westbrook sparked the Saxons to a sparkling 28-1 record and the Class 6A state championship. The state’s Gatorade Player of the Year averaged 19.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.7 steals per game.

Cierra Walker, G, Oregon City, 5-8, Sr.
Walker committed to Vanderbilt and led Oregon City to a 22-5 record, averaging 16.2 points and 5.1 assists per game.

Autumn Baumgartner, G, Sheldon (Eugene), 5-7, Sr.
The Georgetown commit posted 23.1 points and 4.1 steals per game for the 21-7 Fighting Irish.

Aleah Goodman, G, La Salle Prep (Milwaukie), 5-9, Jr.
The talented point guard led La Salle to the Class 5A finals, averaging 15.8 points, 7.2 assists and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Catherine Clemens, F, Burns, 6-0, Jr.
Clemens averaged 18.4 points, 10 rebounds and 4.4 assists to help the Hilanders (27-3) to the 2A state final, but she was forced to sit out the championship game defeat with an injury.

Kate Anderson, G, Jesuit (Portland), 5-9, Sr.
