USA TODAY High School Sports is proud to announce the 2015-16 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Rhode Island Girls Basketball Team. Players were selected based on their athletic achievements from the 2015-16 season.

Sean Reddy, La Salle Academy (Providence)
Reddy’s team left little doubt to who was the dominant squad in the state, winning both the Div. 1 championship and the Open state championship—both times over South Kingstown—and finishing 26-2. Reddy has now won nine championships in his 14 years as coach.


Player of the Year
Janai Crooms, G, St. Andrew’s (Barrington), 5-10, So.
The precocious combo guard is one of the top sophomore recruits in the country, ranked No. 12 nationally by ESPN. Crooms averaged 13 points, 12 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game for 12-9 St. Andrew’s, which reached the semifinals of the NEPSAC Class C tournament.

Haley Alves, F, Portsmouth, 5-9, Sr.
The do-it-all senior recorded 16.8 points, 9.9 rebounds, 4.9 blocked shots and 3.5 assists per game for the Patriots.

Oluchi Ezemma, C, Moses Brown (Providence), 5-10, So.
Ezemma carried Moses Brown (22-3) to the Div. II state championship, averaging 18.2 points and 15 rebounds per game.

Sloane Heterick, G, La Salle Academy (Providence), 5-4, Sr.
Heterick was a key player in the Rams balanced attack, contributing eight points, seven rebounds and four assists per contest as La Salle won the Div. I and Open state tournaments.

Celia Tomlinson, F, South Kingstown, 6-0, Sr.
The state’s Gatorade Player of the Year posted 19.6 points, 13.3 rebounds and 6.4 blocks per contest as the Rebels reached the finals of the Div. 1 state tournament.

Kasey Gagan, G, St. Raphael (Pawtucket), 5-9, Jr.

Morgan Higgins, G, North Kingstown, 5-5, So.

Casey Evans, F, St. Andrews (Barrington), 6-1, Sr.

Sarah Coutu, G, Cranston East, 5-4, Jr.
