Brian Jones, Jesuit (Dallas)
Jones guided Dallas Jesuit to the first baseball championship in school history, clinching the Class 6A title with a 6-2 win over San Antonio Johnson.

Forrest Whitley, P, Alamo Heights (San Antonio), 6-7/250, Sr.
Texas’s No. 1 pitching prospect overcame an early-season thumb injury to finish his prep career with a flourish. Drafted No. 17 overall by the Houston Astros, Whitley posted a 10-1 record with a 0.28 ERA and 137 strikeouts in 74.2 innings. He hurled a pair of no-hitters and walked only 16 batters.
