BEN AL-GHARABALLY
SCHOOL: St. Clair
YEAR: Senior
POSITION: Center midfield
SEASON: Times Herald Player of the Year that scored 25 goals and added five assists in 15 games this season. As a team captain, Al-Gharabally earned Division 2 All-State Second Team, All-Region, All-District, MAC Gold MVP, All-MAC Academic Team and Team MVP honors. He will continue his soccer career at the University of Detroit.
COACH’S COMMENT: “He is the type of player that is the first one to show up to every soccer practice and the last one to leave,” Joe Kunce said.
BARRET GEORGE
SCHOOL: Marlette
YEAR: Senior
POSITION: Defender
SEASON: Had 52 blocks on a defense that allowed just four goals all season en route to a Division 4 district title. He also added three goals and two assists, also earning All-GTC First Team and All-District honors.
COACH’S COMMENT: “The heart of our team runs through Barret. He is the best defender I have seen in a while. He has great size, ball-handling ability and ball placement. Barret wins most 50-50 balls,” Dave Hayden said.
JARET GIL
SCHOOL: Richmond
YEAR: Senior
POSITION: Midfielder
SEASON: Earned All-District honors after scoring 20 goals and adding 12 assists. Also played a key role in Richmond’s BWAC and district titles this season.
COACH’S COMMENT: “Jaret was a very dangerous player for us. He created a lot of chances and scored a lot of big goals,” Lance Whitney said.
BRENDAN JACQUES
SCHOOL: Richmond
YEAR: Senior
POSITION: Defender/midfielder
SEASON: Earned All-District honors after scoring three goals and adding three assists, also primarily playing defense to help Richmond produce 17 shutouts this season. Also played a key role in the Blue Devils BWAC and district titles.
COACH’S COMMENT: “Great defensive player that played on the back line mostly for us. Best on-the-ball defender and usually matched up with the opposing team’s best offensive player,” Lance Whitney said.
MICHAEL LANSKY
SCHOOL: Marysville
YEAR: Senior
POSITION: Forward
SEASON: Earned Division 2 All-State Third Team honors after a season with 19 goals and seven assists to help Marysville to a 15-5-4 overall record. Also earned All-MAC Gold, All-Region, All-District and All-MAC Academic honors to finish his Vikings career.
COACH’S COMMENT: “Michael was a key player for our team. He has great skill and speed and led our team in goals,” Dianna Dykstra said.
MARC MASON
SCHOOL: Marlette
YEAR: Sophomore
POSITION: Goalkeeper
SEASON: Only let up four goals all year long, making 98 saves on 102 shots on his way to 10 shutouts on the season. He also earned All-GTC First Team and All-District honors, also helping the Red Raiders capture a Division 4 district title.
COACH’S COMMENT: “Even though he had a very good defense in front of him he still made some key saves. He was solid for us and really tightened up our defensive side,” Dave Hayden said.
MARCEL MUNGER
SCHOOL: Croswell-Lexington
YEAR: Senior
POSITION: Forward
SEASON: Earned BWAC Co-MVP and Division 3 All-State Third Team honors after a season with 34 goals and 10 assists. The Findlay commit also ended his season with All-BWAC, All-Region, All-District and All-Academic honors.
COACH’S COMMENT: “He was a determined goal scorer that can find multiple ways to put the ball in the net. Hard working and competitive till the end of each game. We knew we could stay in most games because of him,” Markus Munger said.
KURTIS OBERMYER
SCHOOL: Port Huron Northern
YEAR: Senior
POSITION: Midfielder
SEASON: Earned team MVP honors after scoring five goals and adding six assists for the Huskies. Also ended his season with All-MAC Blue and All-District honors.
COACH’S COMMENT: “Kurtis led the team in the center of the field, always playing unselfishly and creating for teammates, yet was willing to take opponents on and attack the goal. We will really miss his blend of skill and vision on the field,” Bryan Becker said.
NOLAN REEVE
SCHOOL: Memphis
YEAR: Senior
POSITION: Midfielder
SEASON: Earned Division 4 All-State Second Team honors after a season with 17 goals and four assists despite missing four games due to injury. The team captain also earned All-GTC First Team honors to end his Yellowjackets career.
COACH’S COMMENT: “Nolan had great work ethic on the field and was a great finisher out of the midfield position. Scored many big goals for us this year,” Andrew Rohde said.

SCHOOL: Marysville
YEAR: Junior
POSITION: Goalkeeper
SEASON: Earned Division 2 All-State honorable mention status after a year where he had eight shutouts and a 0.9 goals against average. He also received All-MAC Gold, All-Region, All-District honors and All-MAC Academic honors to end his season. Also played a key role in Marysville’s Division 2 district title.
COACH’S COMMENT: “Brett was a great leader and his excellent skills at making great saves were key to our team. Brett worked very hard at all practices and gave it his all in every game,” Dianna Dykstra said.
