A pair of players who led their teams to deep playoff runs are your first two finalists for The Courier-Journal Boys Tennis Player of the Year.
New Albany’s Logan Charbonneau and Jeffersonville’s Bradley Cross have been named to the CJ’s Southern Indiana Boys Tennis All-Area Team and are now up for the sport’s player of the year honor at this June’s Courier-Journal Sports Awards Ceremony presented by Norton Sports Health.
The Metro Louisville boys and girls and Southern Indiana girls all-area tennis teams and player of the year finalists will be named in the spring when their seasons are held.
Charbonneau, a senior Eastern Illinois commitment, went 25-4 for the Bulldogs at No. 1 singles and advanced to the IHSAA state finals for the second time. He was named a first-team all-state selection.
A second team all-state honoree, Cross spearheaded the Red Devils’ fourth straight sectional and regional titles at No. 1 Singles. The IUS commit went 18-8 overall.
Each all-area selection and finalist, along with a guest, will be invited to this June’s The Courier-Journal Sports Awards Ceremony presented by Norton Sports Health. There, Athlete of the Year winners and other special awards will be announced.
