Is Louisville still “in the mix” with the 6-foot-6, 180-pound guard from the Bronx?
“Of course they’re still in the mix,” Randolph said. “They always text me. Now and then they call me. They check up on me.”
Randolph, who plays on the same AAU team as other Louisville recruiting targets Quade Green and Mohamed Bamba, said U of L’s coaches talk at length with him about his defensive prowess, his energy and his scoring ability.
And the biggest appeal? He grew up following fellow New Yorker Russ Smith.
“My game is similar to his,” Randolph said.
Obviously Randolph is much bigger than Smith, who was listed as 6-foot, 160 pounds at U of L, but he is considered a scoring guard. And he has attracted a ton of attention from college coaches, with about 20 scholarship offers already extended.
For now, Randolph said the plan is to get his SAT done and play through the AAU season. He didn’t otherwise have any visits planned – or expect to plan soon.
