Outlook: Cravens, who was an assistant for six seasons before stepping away from the program for the last four seasons, inherits a team which has the potential to make it back to the regional tournament.

Coach: Maurice Ponder (first year).

Last season: 6-25, lost to North Bullitt 56-8 in a district tournament semifinal.

Player to watch: Junior forward Sage Blue is capable of averaging a double-double after leading the team last season in scoring (9.9 ppg) and rebounding (8.8 rpg).

Coach: David Marion (third year)

Last season: 23-7, lost to Mercy 66-51 in a region tournament quarterfinal.

Player to watch: Senior guard Lauren Deel (16.2 ppg, 6.0 rpg), who is headed to Bellarmine, showed she can finish with the best of them by making 59.3 percent of her field-goal attempts last season inside the arc.

Other players: G Kaylie Davis (So.); G Hailey Free (Jr., 9.7 ppg, 3.7 rpg); F Caroline Janes (Jr.); F Sarah Janes (Jr.); G Katie Milby (So.); G Alexis Mouser (So.); F Emily Tyman (So.).

Outlook: Not much experience outside Deel and Free, but Marion said, “Our practices get very intense and spirited and the players feed off of it.”

Coach: Kevin Kennedy (11th year).

Last season: 11-17, lost to Bullitt Central 62-42 in a district tournament semifinal.

Player to watch: Junior guard/forward DaVionna Sloan returns after leading the Trojans in scoring (13.6 ppg) last season and adding 4.1 rebounds per game.

Other players: G Krystal Jackson (Sr., 4.2 ppg, 2.0 rpg); F NaVesha Sheckles (Sr., 2.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg); G Nia Sheckles (Jr., 12.9 ppg, 2.3 rpg).

Outlook: The Trojans return four starters from last season – including top scorers Sloan and Nia Sheckles – but Kennedy is concerned about depth. “It is going to take time four our freshmen to be ready to play,” Kennedy said.
