7-year-old remains unconscious after collapse during youth soccer practice

A 7-year-old remains unconscious after collapsing during a soccer practice late last week, his grandmother told WSB-TV in Atlanta.

Aidan Heath was running drills at the Woodstock YMCA when his grandmother saw him fall to the ground.

“I thought he was playing, and then I saw his eyes rolling into the back of his head,” Peggy Pickard Moore told the station. The coach rushed to the young boy and administered CPR until medical personnel arrived.

Moore said Heath suffered cardiac arrest and doctors believe it is a congenital heart defect, she said. More tests are expected to determine the cause.

Moore has set up a Facebook page called “Prayers for Aidan.” She posted, “Aidan is a very lovable, charming, goofy and active little boy that loves his little brother and soccer.”

The family has arranged a prayer group and is working to set up a means for donations.
