Hopefully a week was enough to recover from last week’s district games — because it’s time for another week of #BeatBrian.
No district games this week, but there’s still plenty of good action waiting to unfold.
Tate hosts Pace for the game of the week, as the Patriots seek to earn their first win over Tate since 2012.
Escambia and Navarre are both hot off district wins, and will meet for a potential playoff preview at Emmitt Smith Field.
Catholic and West Florida will renew a (former district) rivalry, that area fans can remember from classic district games and playoff games within the last five years.
It’s a relatively small slate of seven games this week, a chance at perfect picks is within reach.
Now, lets get down to picking:
Jay at Cottondale: Last year, the Royals earned their first win of the season with a 58-56 win over Cottondale. Jay could pick up its first win this week, but I think Cottondale’s run game will make that hard to achieve.

Milton at Crestview: QB Rusty Moorer (No. 2 in state in total yards gained) and the Crestview Bulldogs are eager to keep their perfect season going. Milton will have to start hot and finish strong to pull the upset. I’ll take the home team.

Walton at Gulf Breeze: If the preseason kickoff game was any indication, Gulf Breeze is the safe pick here. I see the Dolphins picking up their second straight win this week.

Northview at Liberty County: The Northview Chiefs offense could take off tonight, eager to get their record above .500. I see the Chiefs winning by a two-possession margin this week.

West Florida at Catholic: The Crusaders enter this one on a three-game win streak facing the Jaguars who are coming off a bye week. Catholic would love to keep the streak alive, but I see West Florida’s offense causing havoc on Friday night.

Pace at Tate: Tate’s loss to Niceville two weeks ago is far behind the Aggies now. Pace hung close with the area’s No. 1 team last week, and has the confidence to upset the area’s No. 2 team this week. If Tate can stop the run, they should defend home.
Tate over Pace
Navarre at Escambia: Here’s a tough one. The Gators stole the show last week with a 35-0 win over Pine Forest. Navarre has strung together 17-straight regular season wins. This one will be close, but I think the Raiders find consecutive win No. 18 tonight.
