The game will go on at Corner High School in Alabama, vandalism and all.
As reported by Alabama CBS affiliate WIAT, the Corner football stadium was vandalized by intruders who broke the glass windows at the stadium’s concession stands, among other issues. The criminal mischief came just days before Corner is set to kick off the 2016 season against rival Dora High School.
Corner assistant principal Tommy Holmes told WIAT that the incident was the first act of vandalism the school has had to face. Still, he and the school’s fans all went through with the football team’s annual “Meet the Jackets” event, ensuring that the fans are ready for the face off against Dora, all while they sift through surveillance video and leads to find who may have harmed the stadium.
“Obviously there should be jail time or something of that nature, because it’s vandalism. It’s not something that’s not very serious,” Corner fan Garrett Ellis told WIAT of the vandals.
