ALL-USA Watch: Wrestler Yianni Diakomihalis wins 200th consecutive match

Yianni Diakomihalis took 14 seconds to pin his opponent at 152-pounds and win his 200th consecutive high school wrestling match.

“Yianni already has the New York state record, and it’s something he’s going to build on the rest of the season,” said Hilton head coach Craig Gross. “We all look forward to seeing him extend it.”

Hilton beat Lockport 48-26 in a dual meet.

Already a four-time New York state champion, Diakomihalis is looking to become the second wrestler in state history to win five state titles. Diakomihalis was 52-0 a year ago at 138 pounds and is a two-time Cadet Freestyle world champion.
