CHLOE RIVERS, New Castle
Rivers led her team to victory against Connersville April 4, going 3-for-3 with four RBIs in the Trojans’ 6-5 win. She knocked in three runs on a bases-clearing double in the fifth inning and added a game-winning home run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
MATTHEW LITWICKI, Lake Central
Litwicki threw an complete game shutout against Chesteron April 7. The Indiana University commit struck out eight and surrendered five hits to lead Lake Central to a 1-0 victory.
MORGAN FITZPATRICK, Mooresville
A team captain and the Pioneers’ No. 1 singles player, Fitzpatrick won her first match of the season 6-0, 6-2 over Danville on April 5.
COLTON KUPPLER, Sullivan
Kuppler shot a 71 at the Northview Invitational at Forest Park Golf Course April 9. He shot a 37-34 to edge out Terre Haute South’s Braxton McIntyre by three strokes for medalist honors.
BOYS TRACK & FIELD
ANDREW DeRIDDER, Franklin Central
On April 5, DeRidder set a school record in the 100 meters with a time of 10.53 seconds. He also ran a 22.21 in the 200 meters and anchored the 4×100 relay with a time of 42.66.
GIRLS TRACK & FIELD
GRACE WAGGONER, Vincennes Rivet
The freshman finished last week with season bests in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.78 and the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 10 1/2 inches. She also improved her time in the 300-meter hurdles to 50.68 and is a member of the 4×100 relay team.
JULIA SCHACHT, Park Tudor
In a dual match against Bloomington North and Reitz Memorial April 9, Schacht had a total of 10 points and eight goals for the day.
CAM BENDER, Zionsville
Bender had four goals and an assist in Zionsville’s 8-6 win over Culver Academy on April 9.
ISAAC GOOD, Brownsburg
Good, a junior, had two tries in the team’s 86-0 win over North Central April 9.
LAUREN WHITE, Avon
White scored three tries for 15 points in Avon’s 43-10 victory over North Central April 9.

INAUGURAL INDIANA SPORTS AWARDS
The new IndyStar Indiana Sports Awards will honor the state’s top high school athletes. The April 28 event will feature a keynote speech by Andrew Luck, a sit-down dinner, video tributes of nominees and the announcement of the IndyStar Mr. Basketball award presented by the Indiana Pacers and the IndyStar Miss Basketball Award presented by the Indiana Fever — among other awards. Athletes being honored and one guest may attend for free. Nominated athletes will be notified through their athletic department. The event is sold out, but you can follow along on IndyStar’s social media accounts during the event.
