GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD
KATHERINE FREE, Cathedral
Free won the 3200-meter run in the large school division of the Hoosier State Relay on March 26, setting a school record by 14 seconds with a time of 10:37.7.
BOYS TRACK AND FIELD
BEN SHARP, Mooresville,
Sharp won the 110- and the 300-meter hurdles in a three-way meet against Heritage Christian and Beech Grove on March 22.
JESSICA WEAVER, Lebanon
As a senior pitcher, Weaver has helped the Tigers start their season 4-0. Last week, she had a .692 batting average, 4 home runs and 10 RBIs. She pitched 21 innings, compiling 37 strikeouts
JONROSS RICHARDSON, Lapel
Richardson scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds in Lapel’s state championship win over Howe on March 26.

The new IndyStar Indiana Sports Awards will honor the state’s top high school athletes. The April 28 event will feature a keynote speech by Andrew Luck, a sit-down dinner, video tributes of nominees and the announcement of the IndyStar Mr. Basketball award presented by the Indiana Pacers and the IndyStar Miss Basketball Award presented by the Indiana Fever — among other awards. Athletes being honored and one guest may attend for free. Nominated athletes will be notified through their athletic department. A limited number of tickets are available to the public for $50.
