Andy Fagan has resigned as Cathedral’s boys basketball coach after accepting a position as an assistant at a Division I college basketball program.
Fagan, who coached Cathedral for six seasons, confirmed the move with IndyStar on Wednesday but declined to name the school he’s headed to until the job becomes official.
It will be his first college coaching position since he was an assistant at Lynn University from 2004-06.
The Franklin College graduate replaced Scott Hicks as coach of the Irish basketball program in 2010. Fagan amassed a 108-37 record and led Cathedral to a state runner-up finish in 2013.
Fagan previously coached at Brebeuf from 2008-10 and was an assistant at Warren Central in 2007.
