Class/age: Senior/17.

Sport/events: Track and Field/long jump, triple jump and 1,600-meter relay.

Family: Parents, Anne and Fred; A.J., brother, 20.

Academics: 90 average.

Last week: The two-time Democrat and Chronicle All-Greater Rochester selection broke the meet long jump record during the Royal Comet Invitational at Rush-Henrietta. Tella said the long jumpers were running into a headwind, but he leaped 22 feet-6.5 inches, the season’s best in Section V.

McQuaid aims for a third consecutive Rochester City Athletic Conference team title on Friday, when it hosts the league meet, 3 p.m .Friday and St. John Fisher College.

About me: Lives in Fairport. … Also has the section’s No. 1 triple jump, 48-6.25 at the 2016 Penn Relays in Philadelphia, the top mark among American jumpers, fifth overall …  Injured a labrum in his hip that caused him to miss indoor and outdoor seasons during his junior year. … Committed to track and field team at Rutgers University (N.J.), where he plans to major in mechanical engineering. …  “Ideally, I’d love to design high-performance cars. I just talked to a bunch of people at Rutgers and PIttsburgh and I got a bunch of advice for co-ops (internships).”
