You could say Notre Dame quarterback commit Avery Davis from Cedar Hill (Texas) is on a roll.
Davis threw four touchdown passes in the fourth quarter last week as Cedar Hill put together a crazy comeback for a 54-50 victory against Duncanville. Helped by a late onside kick, Cedar Hill scored the game’s final 20 points after trailing by 16 with 7:55 remaining.
Thursday, Davis completed all 11 of his first-half passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns as Cedar Hill beat Irving MacArthur 58-0. Davis and the starters did not play after halftime with a 42-0 lead at the break.
So that’s seven touchdowns in his last three quarters of action and nine in the last five (Davis also threw a pair of second-quarter scores against Duncanville).
After the season-opening loss to then-No. 3 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas), Davis missed two games with an injury, but has returned with fire in the last few weeks.
