Benet Academy (Lisle, Ill.) won its second consecutive 4A state title and is the highest-ranked new team in the Super 25 girls basketball rankings. Kathleen Doyle had 24 points to lead the Redwings (32-3) to a 42-39 defeat of then-No. 20 Fremd (Palatine) in the 4A state championship.

The Redhawks are one of seven new teams in the rankings. The others: No. 17 St. Francis (Alpharetta, Ga.); No. 20 Wadsworth, Ohio; No. 21 Chaminade, West Hills, Calif.; No. 23 Wichita South (Kansas); No. 24 Oakton (Vienna, Va.); and No. 25 Detroit Country Day (Beverly Hills, Mich.).

St. Francis (31-1) won the Class A Georgia title as Maya Dodson had 22 points in a 63-37 defeat of Greenforest (Decatur). Jodi Johnson led Wadsworth (26-1) with 29 points in a 47-39 defeat of Whitmer (Toledo) in Ohio Division I quarterfinal and had 25 points in a 73-49 defeat of Magnificat (Rocky River) in the first round of the state Division I tournament.

No. 21 Chaminade (27-4) knocked off then-No. 21 Long Beach Poly 72-63 as Leaonna Odom had 23 points in the CIF Southern Section Open Division championship. No. 23 South (Wichita) improved to 22-0 as Ericka Mattingly had 12 points in a 56-26 defeat of Garden City in a 6A sub-state final. No. 24 Oakton (Vienna, Va.) moved to 29-0 as Maddie Royle had 21 points in a 70-47 defeat of Woodbridge in a 6A state quarterfinal. No. 25 Detroit Country Day is 21-1 as Destiny Pitts averaged 17 points in district defeats of Lamphere (Madison Heights), Warren Collegiate (Warren) and Notre Dame Prep (Pontiac).
