BUFFALO GAP – Stuarts Draft, sparked by a five-run outburst in the sixth inning, defeated Buffalo Gap 9-3 in Conference 36 baseball action.
Dalton McGann pitched a solid game for the Cougars, going seven innings and striking out 12. Lucas Wheeler pitched three shutout innings for Buffalo Gap before getting in trouble in the fourth inning.
Stuarts Draft opened up the scoring in the fourth inning, taking a 2-0 lead before the Bison were able to get a run back in the bottom of the frame. Gap went cold at the plate after that only managing a couple of runs in the final inning when the game was out of reach.
McGann also led the Cougars at the plate with three hits and a RBI and Cooper Marion added a couple of hits. With the win the Cougars improve to 5-3 and will host Wilson on Tuesday.
Troy Hodge had two hits for the Bison as they fell to 2-4 on the season. They host Luray on Tuesday.
