Boys golf continues their quest for greatness

The 2015 4A WIAA State Golf Champions, Bellarmine Prep, is back in action.

Last season ended with a narrow victory over Issaquah High School, beating them by a single point.

After returning all six state qualifiers, Senior Joe Lyon, Juniors Collin Bordeaux, RJ Manke and Joe Allen and sophomores Joe Highsmith and Jordan Lee, the Lions look to repeat as champions. All of these players, plus senior Kyle Carlson, look to create another memorable season.

After the first four matches, the Lions have remained undefeated, beating Shelton, Central Kitsap, Yelm, and Stadium. Each of these matches has been won by a decisive margin.

The Lions next match is tomorrow, Thursday, April 21 at Fircrest Golf Club against Timberline. They also look to defend their league championship at the league tournament at Spanaway Lake in early May.

Look out for the Lions as they will also play the Egber’s Invitational on May 6 at Skagit Country Club, where they won the tournament by a whopping 51 strokes.

The team is based around being confident, but also classy. Hopefully you will see them upholding these values as they contend the rest of the year.
