The Lady Bruins, ranked No. 23 nationally by MaxPreps, claimed their fourth consecutive Class AAA state title with Friday’s 3-0 win over Farragut — their third straight championship triumph over the Lady Admirals.

“Forget the how-many peats and whatnot, this team, really their journey has been amazing,” said coach Barbara Campbell, who is in her 29th season at Brentwood and watched her squad claim its state-leading 12th title on Friday. “Just remembering the adversity and what it took to get here with fabulous teamwork and togetherness.”

A mere 48 hours after its 3-1 quarterfinal win over Farragut, the Lady Bruins (51-4), led by sophomore standout Logan Eggleston, claimed a pair of close victories in the first two games before coasting to a 25-14 win in the decisive third set.

“We knew they were going to come out really strong because they wanted to beat us so bad,” Eggleston said of the Lady Admirals. “We weren’t really nervous, we were just really excited, and we knew that we just had to come out with full intensity and work hard.”

Eggleston, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter who is considering offers from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Texas and Stanford, finished with a team-leading 23 kills and 15 digs. Garrett Joiner, a junior Virginia commitment, added 11 kills and a pair of digs.

“Our team has played 13 sets in less than 24 hours, and that’s a challenge,” Farragut coach Susan Davidson said. “Our girls battled. They should have been tired, but they weren’t tired. They were fighting and today Brentwood was just the better team.”

Alexis Parker, a senior Indiana commitment, tallied a team-leading 10 kills and seven digs for Farragut (44-6), while  Madison Howell, a Clemson commitment, contributed 17 digs with three assists.
