Butler-Lafayette game postponed until Saturday due to power outage

By

Midway through the first quarter of Butler High School’s first round football playoff game against Lafayette, the game came to a grinding halt.

Seconds after Butler senior quarterback Blake Showalter found sophomore wide receiver Demontae Crumes for a 75-yard touchdown, the power at Lafayette’s football stadium went out. After a delay of nearly an hour, it was decided that the game will be postponed until 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. Lafayette currently holds a 7-6 lead but when the game resumes, the Bears will have the chance to go for an extra point kick or two-point conversion.
