Butler's Bowden commits to Spalding

Micaiah Bowden, one of two seniors on the Butler High School girls basketball team that won the state title earlier this month, has committed to Spalding University.

Bowden, a 5-foot-10 forward, averaged 6.3 points and 2.8 rebounds and shot 43 percent (86 of 200) as a senior. The Bearettes finished 31-5 and defeated Franklin County 62-36 in the state final.

Butler has three juniors who already have committed to NCAA Division I schools – Jaelynn Penn (Dayton), Tasia Jeffries (Saint Louis) and Teri Goodlett (Eastern Kentucky).
