Chowchilla (Calif.) Union High School District board voted unanimously Monday to change the team’s mascot from Redskins to Tribe, according to the Fresno Bee.
The change is in accordance with a law that passed in California last year that banned the use of Redskins as the mascot for public school. The schools had until the start of 2017 to change their nicknames
Three other schools—Tulare High School, Gustine High School, and Calaveras High School—have already changed their mascots.
