California QB Nick Sipe commits to Purdue

Purdue added its second quarterback from the 2017 class Sunday when California native Nick Sipe announced his commitment to the Boilermakers.

Sipe attends Villa Park High School.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound Sipe joins Griffin Alstott, who committed in March, as quarterbacks in the 2017 class. Of Purdue’s three commitments, two are quarterbacks. Memphis defensive end Tijaun Mason committed last week.

Sipe is ranked as the No. 11 pro style quarterback by 247Sports and No. 25 by the 247Sports Composite rankings at the position.

Sipe reported scholarship offers from UC Davis, Wyoming,, Montana State, Boise State, Old Dominion and Northern Arizona. Sipe reported the offer from Purdue on June 2.
