With an interception and an 18-yard return by Cameron Thomas, No. 6 Calvary took down No. 11 Opelousas Catholic, 56-47.

The first-round playoff matchup was a battle of the quarterbacks as Calvary’s Cade Hart finished 22-of-32 passing for 490 yards with four touchdowns and one interception. Opelousas Catholic’s Sam Jarrell was 22-of-35 passing for 388 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions.

Hart’s go-to receiver was Kyle Jones who caught 10 passes for 253 yards and scored twice, a 79-yard bomb his longest catch of the game.

Kordavion “DaDa” Washington finished the game with 139 yards rushing and four touchdowns on 25 carries. He also had 24 yards receiving on three catches.

Both teams had explosive offenses and finished with more than 500 yards total offense – Calvary 629, Opelousas Catholic 533.

Calvary will travel to play the St. Charles Comets in the second round.
