There is just one week remaining in Class B’s regular season and the top eight teams appear to have separated themselves from the pack. That’s important because — unlike Class AA and A — only eight teams qualify for the postseason in Class B.
Below are the standings I have calculated for Class B through Week 6. The top eight appear to be quarterfinal bound, so this week will probably just determine which teams are seeded where. Obviously, Pleasantville and Westlake will meet Saturday in the biggest game of the season to date. That will determine the No. 1 seed. Other games to watch closely are Nanuet vs. Blind Brook and Ardsley vs. Albertus Magnus. (Note: Even if Edgemont lost to Putnam Valley this week, it would still qualify for the playoffs.)
After the seeds are set following Saturday’s games, the Class B quarterfinals will be scheduled for either Oct. 21 or 22 at the higher seeds. Those winners will meet in the semifinals the following weekend.
The championship game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5 at Mahopac High School. Any questions, contact me via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or on Twitter.
