The Coloradoan has named its Male Athlete of the Week for contests March 28-April 2.
School: Fort Collins
The performance: Snavely was dominant on the mound in Fort Collins’ 1-0 win at Grand Junction. He pitched a complete game, allowing three hits and striking out seven in seven innings. The Wichita State signee didn’t allow a walk.
Each week the Coloradoan will name one male and one female high school athlete of the week. Winners will be announced online Monday afternoon’s and in print on Tuesday.
Nominations can be submitted via coloradoan.com/athleteofweek and must be sent by noon Monday for the previous week’s action. The competition is open to all of Northern Colorado, including Fort Collins, Windsor, Loveland and Greeley.
The awards are part of the Coloradoan’s commitment to honor local high school athletes, culminating in the Northern Colorado Sports Award show in May with guest speaker Peyton Manning of the Denver Broncos. All-area selections for each sport at the end of the season will determine the athletes who will be invited to the awards show.
