Former Baylor coach Art Briles has largely disappeared off the public map since news broke of Baylor’s sexual assault scandal, quite rightfully. He surfaced briefly on Tuesday at Cowboys training camp, where he met with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, COO Stephen Jones and other Cowboys officials. Predictably, Jerry Jones was asked his opinion about Art Briles and whether he would coach again.
Let’s just say that the owner’s response was peak Jerry Jones:
All Jones had to do was say he respected Briles and felt he would definitely return to coaching some day. Instead, he said he hoped his grandson, Highland Park quarterback John Stephen Jones, would play for Briles some day.

That’s precisely the kind of comment that raises more attention than the journalist who asked it ever intended. It’s a thoroughly provocative answer to a question where being provocative isn’t a good thing, under any circumstances.
Of course, Jerry Jones could care less what other people think, or at least he would like to think
