Crestwood (S.C.) football player airlifted to hospital following injury in preseason jamboree

A Crestwood (Sumter, S.C.) High football player was airlifted to a hospital after suffering a reported head and neck injury during a preseason jamboree on Friday night against Marion.

The player was identified as wide receiver Antonio Jackson over the public address system.

According to a report from WIS, Jackson lost consciousness before complaining of a headache and neck pain after being tackled in the second quarter. WTLX reported that Jackson was conscious and had movement in his fingers before he was airlifted.

WIS said the medical staff was taking precautions given the type of injury and that Jackson is expected to be fine.
