Carmel baseball coach Dan Roman talks to his team after their June 17, 2016, game against Warren Central.
Dan Roman resigned as Carmel’s baseball coach on Tuesday, the school confirmed to IndyStar.
Roman joined the Greyhounds in June 2012 after coaching 16 seasons at Lawrence Central, where he went 322-171 and led the Bears to a Class 4A state title in 2004.
Roman could not be immediately reached for comment.
This past season, Roman led Carmel to its first sectional championship since 2000. After the game, Roman said, “It means a ton. This is my fourth year with the program, and the seniors on this team came in with me. We’re building something here. We’ve been doing what we can, and it feels really good.”
The Greyhounds were eliminated from the state tournament after falling to Zionsville 8-4 in a Class 4A regional championship game.
