This week’s Super 25 boys high school lacrosse rankings have a new look, though not at the top as the Hill Academy out of Ontario — idle since March 18 — still holds the top slot. However, changes abound deeper within as several results created significant movement, primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region where the most intriguing results occurred.
Perhaps the biggest result of the week, Bullis (Md.) become the No. 12 team after a major 8-7 upset win over previous No. 3 McDonogh (Md.). Boys’ Latin of Maryland’s MIAA ‘A’ Conference jumps in and way up to No. 10 by way of a 10-8 win over Gonzaga (D.C.), previously ranked No. 5. Setting up what should be an exciting week ahead, the newest Super 25 entrants will meet in a matchup of No. 10 and No. 12 on April 1.

Bringing other changes, the outcome of both McDonogh and Gonzaga losing this past week shuffles the middle of the pack, with a new pecking order for the teams from the Mid-Atlantic.
Deerfield Academy (Mass.), though competing only in scrimmages last week, still was the buzz of the scholastic scene after a strong showing against No. 2 IMG Academy (Fla.). The Big Green move from No. 21 into the No. 9 spot amid the shuffling as a team that could and should challenge No. 4 Brunswick (Conn.) as the best of New England this year thanks to incredible depth of talent.
With still only one game under its belt, new No. 3 Victor out of Rochester, N.Y., remains the highest-ranked public school in the Super 25 and will likely remain so until the Empire State’s season gets into full swing in the next couple weeks.
On deck for the coming week: perhaps the Super 25 clash of the year takes place at Canisius College when No. 1 Hill Academy meets No. 2 IMG Academy on April 4.
