A day after making an official visit to Penn State, New Jersey defensive tackle Fred Hansard flipped his commitment Sunday from Florida to the Nittany Lions. He announced his decision on Twitter.
Hansard titled his post, “I’m Finally Home.”
The 6-1, 310-pound Hansard, from The Hun School (Princeton), had committed to Florida on Aug. 26. He is ranked as the No. 11 defensive tackle in the nation and No. 4 player overall in New Jersey, according to the 247Sports Composite.
He had 30 reported offers and his trip to State College was his first official visit. He had previously taken an unofficial visit earlier in November.
